Fire crews pumped water out of properties in the West Yorkshire town of Todmorden after a "torrential" downpour caused flash floods.

The Environment Agency issued a flood warning at 5.45 pm for the River Calder and tributaries from Todmorden to Brighouse after river levels rose dramatically.

Fire services were called to 19 flooded properties after residents reported "torrential" rain.

The Environment Agency will monitor river levels overnight with further rain forecast.
