Pro-Muammar al-Qaddafi forces fired a suspected Scud missile Monday near the city of Sirte, which sits on the Mediterranean Sea and the hometown of the embattled leader, Reuters reported, citing a U.S. defense official. There were no reports of injuries.
AGI reported that a NATO jet intercepted the missile.
Scuds are reportedly the most powerful weapon in the Lybian army's arsenal. The target of the missile appears unclear.
