A British gravedigger reportedly raped four girls in a churchyard by claiming he was a "warlock" who could pass on magical powers through intercourse.

William Lambert, 74, preyed on vulnerable school girls while running a youth club in St. Dunstan's Church yard in Cheam, Surrey, more than 20 years ago, the Daily Mail reports, citing testimony from a Croydon Crown Court.

One girl claimed Lambert raped her on a tombstone, saying she would "get power from the black floating monk" who haunted the church, the newspaper reports.

Lambert allegedly "spellbound" the girls -- ages 11 to 15 -- into allowing him to have intercourse with them by claiming his power could solve their problems, including aborting the baby of one girl who thought she was pregnant.

The alleged attacks took place between 1985 and 1990, according to testimony. Lambert denies the allegations and accuses the girls of "malicious fabrication," the Daily Mail reports.
