Soldier Orlando Salazar Killed in Texas Bar Fight While on Leave from Army

A young Hispanic soldier home on leave was killed in a weekend bar fight.

U.S. Army Spc. Orlando Salazar, who survived wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, died on Saturday at the El Toro Loco night club in Grand Prairie, Texas.

According to Grand Prairie police, 27-year-old Jose Navarro punched Salazar, who hit his head on the concrete floor and died.

They said Salazar did not throw any punches before suffering the fatal blow.

Navarro and Salazar had known each other since high school and had gotten into an argument, police said.
