Not everyone wants this horrible winter to end.

Workers at a salt mine in Cleveland say they don’t ever want it to stop snowing.

"This has been a great winter -- you can't top this one," David Diaz, a mechanic at the Cargill salt mine, tells CBS News’ Jim Axelrod.

Maintenance supervisor P.J. King agrees.

"It's a good thing, you know, we always say, 'Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow,'" he says.

All the snow and bad weather has proven to be a boon for the mine, which is under Lake Erie and supplies road salt in 12 states and two Canadian provinces.

Miners have been working around-the-clock, seven-days-a-week to meet demand and keep salt spreaders filled. At that pace they are extracting and processing 16,000 tons of salt a day.

Mine manager Steve Horne has been in the business 25 years and tells CBS News he has never seen demand like this.
