PENFIELD, N.Y. – Two men accused of helping their mother clean up blood inside their father's home after he was struck, strangled and disfigured with acid have been released on bail.
No one has been charged with killing Craig Rideout, a 50-year-old suburban Rochester man whose mutilated body was found dumped in the Finger Lakes region.
Authorities say 22-year-old Colin Rideout and 19-year-old Alexander Rideout were arrested as they threw a bag with solvents, gloves and drain cleaner into a pond last week.
The brothers were released on $25,000 bail on Monday, four days after they were charged with evidence tampering. Their mother, the victim's estranged wife, also is charged with tampering with evidence. Laura Rideout was released on bail last week.
Attorneys for the three have yet to comment on the accusations.
