An official says an Army hospital near Fort Bliss in Texas has been put on lockdown after a witness reported seeing a man toting two rifles.

William Beaumont Army Medical Center spokeswoman Amabilia Payen says the hospital in El Paso has been on lockdown since noon Friday, when a caller reported seeing a man carrying two rifles and ammunition cans near the first floor courtyard.

She says there have been no reports of gunfire, but that no one is being allowed into or out of the hospital. She says law enforcement officers are going through the building.

El Paso police didn't immediately return a message seeking details about the investigation.
