Firefighters are working to rescue two window washers who are stuck on a scaffold near the top of a New York City high-rise.

The Fire Department of New York says the workers became trapped near the 62nd floor of the Manhattan building around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A department spokesman says the workers are secured and firefighters are working to bring them into the building through a window.

The rescue operation at West 54th Street and Broadway was still underway about an hour after the fire department received the initial report.
