The parents of a 19-year-old man shot to death by a police officer in South Carolina during a drug sting against his passenger are demanding the release of dashcam video and the investigation report by state agents.

Angie and Paul Hammond said Tuesday that their son was murdered by police and someone needs to tell them why.

Their news conference came a day after Solicitor Chrissy Adams released a statement saying she isn't releasing the evidence for weeks until she decides whether to file criminal charges against Seneca police Lt. Mark Tiller. Adams also says she still has questions for investigators.

The Hammonds say once that the state report was completed, it should have been released.

South Carolina authorities often wait to release evidence. First Amendment advocates say that breaks the law.
