Authorities say a man killed his ex-girlfriend and her grandfather and seriously injured her grandmother before he fatally shot himself in Cleveland.

The shooting happened Sunday night. Deputy Police Chief Ed Tomba says a 29-year-old man opened fire on a woman in her 60s in her backyard, grazing her head. Police say he then went inside and fatally shot his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend and her grandfather.

Tomba says the gunman then shot himself.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner on Monday identified the slain woman as Brittany Reid and her grandfather as 66-year-old Robert Clarke.

Police say Reid's grandmother was in serious condition after the shooting but was able to speak with detectives at a hospital.
