A Georgia teenager charged as an accomplice in the 2013 slaying of a toddler during an attempted street robbery two years ago has pleaded guilty in a deal with prosecutors.

Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney Jackie Johnson says 17-year-old Dominique Lang pleaded guilty Tuesday to criminal attempt to commit armed robbery. Prosecutors dropped a felony murder charge Lang faced in the killing of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago.

Authorities say Lang and De'Marquise Elkins were trying to rob the child's mother in coastal Brunswick on March 21, 2013, when Elkins shot the boy in his stroller.

Johnson noted Lang helped authorities prosecute Elkins, who is serving a life sentence. Lang, who has been jailed the last two years, will spend the next year under house arrest and seven more years on probation.
