DETROIT – Autopsies are scheduled on the bodies of two children found frozen in a deep freezer in their east side Detroit apartment by court officers handling the family's eviction.
Wayne County medical examiner's office spokesman Ryan Bridges says Wednesday morning that the autopsies on the 14-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy will be performed Thursday unless they still are frozen.
Bridges says if that's the case, the autopsies will be delayed until the bodies have thawed.
The children's 36-year-old mother was arrested Tuesday after the bodies were discovered in the Martin Luther King Apartments.
Prosecutor's office spokeswoman Maria Miller says Wednesday that Detroit police have not yet submitted information on the case for charges.
The woman's two other children — ages 11 and 17 — have been placed in protective custody.
