A Detroit-area man convicted of arranging the murder of his wife so he could live the life of a bondage "master" is facing a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.

Bob Bashara is returning to Wayne County court Thursday, about a month after his conviction and nearly three years after Jane Bashara was found dead in her Mercedes-Benz in a Detroit alley.

Bashara was strangled by a handyman at the couple's Grosse Pointe Park home. Prosecutors said Bob Bashara wanted his wife out of the way so he could have a lifestyle of bondage and domination with women who called him "Master Bob."

The 57-year-old Bashara is a former Rotary Club president who had a sex dungeon below the Hard Luck Lounge in Grosse Pointe Park.
