1 shot dead at Florida church; authorities check connection to additional victims at a home

BRADENTON, Fla. – Authorities say they're trying to determine if a fatal shooting at a Florida church is connected to additional victims at a home across town.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office says that deputies discovered the body at Bayshore Baptist Church in Bradenton Thursday afternoon. While at that scene, deputies learned about the other possible victims.

No suspects or arrests were immediately reported.

The Bradenton Herald (http://goo.gl/W8zH6y ) reports that four local schools were placed on lockdown in response to the shooting.

Bradenton is about 35 miles south of Tampa along Florida's Gulf coast.
