A potential suspect in the shooting of a police officer in Minnesota has been captured.

Television news footage showed the man being pulled from his vehicle Wednesday afternoon just off Interstate 494 in the Minneapolis-St. Paul suburb of Woodbury. Police have a massive presence with scores of officers and squad cars on site.

The arrest came about three hours after a Mendota Heights officer was shot.

Mike Youness says he was watching TV in his living room when he heard three gunshots. He tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press he went outside to see a police SUV parked with its door open, and an officer lying on the ground with a severe head injury.

Police agencies refused to comment pending a 5 p.m. news conference.
