Straphangers waiting to board a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority train Wednesday night rescued a man who fell onto the tracks and appeared to be unresponsive.

The man, who was not immediately identified, reportedly fell into the tracks at North Station in Boston shortly after 9 p.m. An employee notified a dispatcher who directed trains in the vicinity to stop, MyFoxBoston.com reported.

The video shows a man appearing to be unbalanced, walk onto the tracks and land on his side. He does not move after the fall. Others on the platform jump onto the tracks and the man is eventually moved to safety.

According to the MBTA, the man was never in danger of being hit by a train.
