Six Flags breaks record for 'Most couples kissing under mistletoe' with 839 couples across seven parks, setting a new Guinness World Record

On Saturday, hundreds of couples gathered at Six Flags theme parks across the country to set a new Guinness World Records' title for “Most couples kissing under the mistletoe.”

It took 1,678 people—that’s 839 couples-- at seven Six Flags locations including Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Six Flags St Louis to smooch their way to victory.

All couples had to kiss for at least 10 seconds under sprigs of live mistletoe.

“Six Flags really outdid itself this year by making history and celebrating the holidays by bringing people together from coast to coast to set a new world record for the most couples kissing under the mistletoe,” Christina Conlon, adjudicator for Guinness said in a statement.

The romantic rendezvous was part of Six Flags’ annual Holiday in the Park event and shattered last year’s record set by 201 couples at Six Flags Over Georgia in 2015.
