Going on vacation has its perks — new sights, flavors and cultures among them — but nothing sucks more than schlepping around lots of luggage every step of the way.

Now a new backpack-meets-duffle-meets-carry on — a flashy 20-feature product that launched Tuesday on Kickstarter and crushed its $20,000 funding goal within 30 minutes — aims to ease the load, and the hassle. It’s the latest travel product to make a killing on Kickstarter. Last August, a 15-feature travel jacket originally aimed for a $20,000 funding goal, but ended up nabbing a cool $9.19 million.

(NOMATIC)

The Nomatic Travel Bag, which at press time stands at a mighty $176,440 in funding from 1,039 backers, can hold belongings for a three- to seven-day trip. Its shoulder straps offer one easy way of carrying around your keep, while pull-out handles instantly convert the product into a duffel.

The real key to the bag’s popularity is its compartmentalization: think dedicated space for a laptop and tablet, a water-bottle pocket lined with waterproof material, a shoe compartment for two pairs of your favorite kicks, and a pocket for socks and underwear.

A separate vacuum bag also helps save room. Waterproof and airtight, the feature lets you pack everything you need in half the space. There’s also another pouch for dirty laundry that can hang on the doorknob of your hotel room.
