Job hunting is one of the most nerve-wracking and tedious tasks that we all must go through. Even with an improving economy, the competition can be stiff. Certain sites can give you an advantage over other applicants. But even after you've submitted your resume, cover letter, and portfolio there's still so much more to the process.
Out of hundreds of applicants, only a select few get the call to come in for an interview. You're now under consideration but you have to convince them. The recruiter knows you're good on paper but now they need to pick your brain to see if you're a good fit.
Facebook has a special way of determining whether or not you will excel at their company. This thought-provoking question is one way they separate the potential employees from the wannabees: "On your very best day at work - the day you come home and think you have the best job in the world - what did you do that day?"
In an interview with Business Insider, Facebook's global head of recruiting, Miranda Kalinowski, explained that the interviewee's answer reveals his or her passions. One might think great answers include helping a coworker, getting a raise, or solving a major problem. Kalinowski says the best response is an answer that aligns with Facebook's mission, which is to connect people. They want to hire people who share the same desires as Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerburg.
