At the end of this week, Irish and non-Irish alike will don their leprechaun best in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. If you are meeting with friends to commemorate the occasion, your cell phone and camera will most likely be in tow. But as you raise glasses of green beverages in cheers, beware that one drop of water could render your electronics useless.

If the luck o’ the Irish is yours and you find your gadget floating in your drink, don't despair -- the Geek Squad has some tips that will leave your soaked phone or camera with a fighting chance for survival.

1. Turn off the phone and remove the battery.

2. Dry the phone (inside and out) with a clean cloth.

3. Check if you have uncooked rice.

4. Take an airtight container and pour the uncooked rice inside.

5. Put your phone in the rice.

6. Seal the container and leave overnight.

7. Put the battery in the phone and turn it on.

For beef jerky, do the same as steps 1 to 3, then resume here:
