Insider Trading
Just last week, President Obama selected the members of a new task force on tax reform. One of the people he appointed is Martin Feldstein, a man who has been an AIG board member for 21 years! Among other things, the new task force will propose ways to overhaul the tax code and make changes in corporate tax breaks.
Feldstein is also a member of the president's Economic Recovery Advisory Board. Obama received more money from AIG in the 2008 election cycle than any other sitting senator, raking in over $104,000.
It should come as no surprise that when the White House was asked to comment about Mr. Feldstein's AIG connection, a senior administration official declined to comment.
Talkative Timmy
TurboTax cheat Tim Geithner was able to survive a bunch of softball questions on the Sunday shows, but here in Hannity's America, we weren't fooled. Geithner is getting Monday's Liberal Translation treatment:

TREASURY SECRETARY TIMOTHY GEITHNER: As you've seen the president say over the course of the week, the most important thing is we recognize that, of course, we don't want to reward failure, and we don't want the government assistance going to reward failure.
LIBERAL TRANSLATION: President Obama is all about rewarding failure. That's why I still have a job.
GEITHNER: But we need to make sure we get this economy back on track. That's going to require the financial system getting fixed and repaired.
LIBERAL TRANSLATION: And somebody at the Treasury Department who actually has a clue.
GEITHNER: Of course we're going to put strong conditions in the — remember, the first — the second week in office the president put out very, very broad, ambitious standards on compensation practice. That was before the Congress acted.
LIBERAL TRANSLATION: And before the AIG bonuses were paid out. See how well the plan worked?
GEITHNER: He was a — took early initiative in this area because we knew this was going to be a significant problem.
LIBERAL TRANSLATION: Yeah, yeah, we knew about the bonuses for months. We didn't think you'd ever find out.

It's always great to have the treasury secretary here for Liberal Translation. And just an early reminder for Mr. Geithner: Don't forget April 15 is tax day. I know you have a habit of forgetting about that day.
Friendly Fire
News from The FOX Nation: You may remember last week when President Obama hosted the first ever online town hall at the White House. The event was billed as a chance for the average American to ask the president a question. But we are now finding out that most of the questions were actually asked by big-time supporters of President Obama, like this one:

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: This gentleman right here. We've got a microphone.
CARLOS DEL TORO, ATTENDED TOWN HALL: Good afternoon, Mr. President. My name is Carlos Del Toro. I served in the Navy for 26 years, retired four years ago and started a small business.

According to The Washington Post, Del Toro left a few other details out of his introduction, like the fact that he endorsed Senator Obama for president in a Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star op-ed back in October of 2008. He also donated thousands of dollars to a number of Democratic candidates that same year. He even ran for the Virginia House of Delegates as a Democrat.
And make no mistake, Del Toro wasn't the only Obama supporter who got in a question during the town hall. Several other campaign donors were also selected, a couple of whom even have blogs dedicated to their fearless leader.
Remember when President Bush's campaign was criticized for how they distributed tickets to their events? Well where's the outrage now?

Hysterical Hype
The Meltdown is brought to you by Princeton scientist Freeman Dyson. Professor Dyson, an eminent physicist and the recipient of 21 honorary degrees from various universities, doesn't buy the global warming hype.
According to The New York Times, Mr. Dyson says that "all the fuss about global warming is grossly exaggerated" and global warming has become a party line. "The fact that the climate is getting warmer doesn't scare me at all."
Professor Dyson has similarly harsh words for Al Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth," which warns of the dangers of disappearing Arctic ice. "Most of the time the Arctic has been free of ice," Dyson says. "A year ago when I was in Greenland where warming is the strongest, the people loved it."
Professor Dyson's views have made him unpopular among his fellow scientists. NASA scientist James Hansen, who refers to coal-fired power plants as "factories of death," said that Dyson "doesn't know what he's talking about."
May I suggest, Mr. Hansen, that you take a look in the mirror. And we salute you, Professor Dyson. Keep up the good work.
