Thanks for the wonderful response to last week's show and to my name for the latest bailout bill: The Congressional Relief Action Program.
Almost everyone loved it.
I did get one response by a viewer who said she'd use her $13 tax break to buy some soap to wash my mouth out.
Save your soap, because if the government continues to act so recklessly with other people's money, I'll be foaming at the mouth, but I won't need soap to do it.
I wish my mother could go and talk to Congress and the president. She has been deceased for over a decade, but was a child of the Great Depression.
When I really wanted something, my mother would often say, you have a champagne appetite and a Coca-Cola paycheck.
It was her way of saying that you can dream beyond what you have and that will make you work hard, be patient and save to get it. But if you try to get beyond what you can afford, you will end up with nothing, except a bad name for not paying your debts.
My mother didn't go to college, but I swear she was smarter than the educated people who are running the country now.
My parents were part of what we call the "Greatest Generation" because they sacrificed themselves and their own comforts for their children.
Today's leaders sacrifice our children and their future by loading them down with our debt to escape the consequences of reckless spending and irresponsible behavior.
I've said before: If were going to spend money on some of our fellow Americans, what about the men and women of our Armed Services who have sacrificed their comfort and careers for us?
Let's make sure we first pay what's owed to those who served and sacrificed for our freedom.
That's my view, I would love to hear yours. E-mail your comments to: firstname.lastname@example.org
