Mindy McCready has been hospitalized in Nashville after an apparent suicide attempt.

The country singer was suffering from wounds to her wrists when she was taken by ambulance from her home, reports The Daily News.

“We responded to a '10-63,' that's a suicidal person call. Mindy McCready was at the house,” Kris Mumford, a Nashville Police Department spokeswoman, told the Daily News. “Apparently she called the mother of her roommate and said some things that caused the mother concern. She called authorities. We responded with paramedics, who took her to a local hospital.”

The incident comes just weeks after McCready confirmed she had an affair with married baseball star Roger Clemens.

McCready, 33, said she met Clemens when she was 16 (reports had them meeting when she was 15), but the relationship did not turn sexual until years later.

"Carrying on a relationship with him is not something I'm proud of," she said.

Clemens in May denied having an affair with a 15-year-old, but didn't specifically address whether he had a romance with McCready. He issued a statement that "I have made mistakes in my personal life for which I am sorry."
