The largest truck to make our list, the Dodge Dakota — sold as the Raider by Mitsubishi — is also the most expensive. New in 2005, the Dakota received a minor freshening for 2008.

The standard 3.7-liter Magnum V-6 delivers 210 horsepower while managing an EPA rating of 16 mpg city/20 highway with a 6-speed manual transmission. Towing capacity is on the low side for a biggish truck at 3,250 pounds, but you can carry 1,710 pounds of people and stuff on board.

If you hurry to your local Dodge dealer, they’ll even throw in a free tank of gasoline worth about $85 at today’s pump prices. For a base price of $21,160, we’d hope so.
