Dear Viewers,

We have been given the "heads up" that Amber's (search) cross examination will not be more than a day...so I am not in California today. I will get transcripts of her testimony throughout the day and will also have Jim Hammer and Laura Ingle in the courtroom so that we can bring you exactly what goes on in the courtroom.

If she were to be on the stand all week in a grilling examination, I would have gotten on a plane to go to the courtroom. (Incidentally, I will be on a plane later in the week to NYC to get ready for the Republican Convention. We kick off our coverage on Friday night from Madison Square Garden.)

By the way, I am deliberately staying out of the "food fight" in politics right now. I don't know about you, but I am more interested in the present and the future than I am in fighting about something that occurred 30 years ago.

How about a debate over the present and future economy? Iraq? Foreign policy? Your job? Health care?

Frankly, I think the obsession and mean spiritedness is beneath us. You would not believe the e-mails I get about politics!

None of the political e-mails make the author look thoughtful, smart and interested in the well being of our country. None that I have read so far debate the issues but instead blame, blame, blame and criticize. If our children acted like this, we would give them time outs! How about a debate over the issues that have an impact on us now and in the future?

Hence here are e-mails about the Scott Peterson case (at least trials have enforced civility! you can not badger a witness or attack with innuendo or rumor!)

dear Greta,

I am very surprised to see everyone seems to forget you are innocent until proven guilty. I do not see this from anyone covering the peterson trail. I know of many men that cheat and lie to all parties involved with him, but that does not mean he kills. it is a sad day for this trail when we forget that saying. amber might be a wonderful person, but she needs to quit falling for these guys so quickly. she is a woman that a man could not flirt with because she would think they are totally in love with her. as a woman I know you have to be careful how you look at men. she needs to quit wearing her heart on her sleeves...
I would also like to say I do enjoy your show, but you do not let your guest ( at least the ones saying something bad about amber or gloria ) finish what they have to say. remember amber is a wittiness(sic) for this case. if she would not have came forward and was found out about she would have still had to be a wittiness(sic) then to she might have been looked at as a suspect.
we have to remember this is a trail(sic) for someone's life. we would not want to get this wrong. I keep wondering about that building they got a tip on say lacy(sic) was there, and when they checked it out and found a low heat source why didn't the cops go to that building to make sure it wasn't lacy almost dead. there are just to many things that haven't been proven for me. why couldn't someone have taken lacy(sic) and killed her and put the body in the bay, after all everyone new from early on that is where scott said he went.
all amber taped calls prove is scott isn't a very nice person, not a killer.
thanks for your time

I WATCH YOUR SHOW EVERY NIGHT AFTER WORKING FOR 13 HOURS FOUR DAYS A WEEK. I GET HOME AT 9:45 PM AND THE SHOW STARTS AT 10:00 PM. I GET MAD IF SOMEONE IN THE HOUSE IS USING MY TV. I WAS BORN IN CUBA AND CAME TO THE USA AT 14 YRS. OF AGE, NOW I AM 50 YRS OLD.

ALTHOUGH YOU SURELY DON'T READ THESE E-MAILS, I WOULD LIKE YOU TO KNOW HOW MUCH I APPRICIATE YOUR SHOW. I BELIEVE, WITH THE PETERSON CASE, HE IS GUILTY BUT WITH HIS GOOD ATTORNEY AND WEAK PROSECUTION, HE WILL WALK FREE. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR YOUR SHOW. I WILL BE IN FRONT OF THE TV TOMORROW NIGHT IN MIAMI. YOUR CUBAN FAN.

ALINA

ANSWER: Alina - I do read the e-mails...and I appreciate them.

Hi Greta, instead of asking Gloria how many hours Amber spent with the Prosecuting team last week, why not ask her how many hours she (Gloria) spent with the Prosecutor. If she answers, we will have a general idea of how long Amber has spent with the Prosecutor.
On a separate issue, when you have Justin (former juror) why do you frequently go to Gloria (or another panelist) who has a pattern of not respecting his comments to respond? I know it adds spice to the show, but it gets old listening to their bullying. I know that you have mentioned that your panelists have “thick skin”, but I believe that Justin is just an ordinary citizen and he rarely gets the opportunity to respond to them.
Lastly, I love watching your show! I have stopped watching other networks because they have become like soap operas. You try to balance the available facts, provide legal points and fairness when there is speculation. I think you’re great !

ANSWER: Good idea ... I will try and remember to ask Gloria tonight if she is on the show.

just want Greta to let Gloria Allred know that I just love her and enjoy watching both Greta and Gloria on the show. I am a fan of Gloria's and I am tired of people picking on her all the time. They are just jealous! I love Bernie and everyone too, but leave Gloria alone! Let her at least finish a sentence! You all are doing a great job and I love the show!
I watch it every night! Thanks!

Greta
This is not to be disrespectful, but why does Gloria Allred always wear a turtleneck under EVERYTHING she wears. Summer, winter, fall or spring---she has got one under her suit. My wife and I feel that perhaps she has had an injury.
