Virginia Tech (search) quarterback Marcus Vick (search) has been charged with reckless driving and possession of marijuana.

Virginia State Police say a trooper clocked Vick going 86 miles an hour Saturday morning on Interstate 64 near New Kent (search). Police say they found two bags containing marijuana on him.

The Newport News native was released on a summons.

Vick was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $2,250 dollars in May after he and two teammates were convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

His lawyer has appealed that conviction and a court date has not been set.

Tech athletic director Jim Weaver has said the three players will be disciplined for the earlier conviction.

Vick is expected to compete with Bryan Randall for the starting job this season.
