"Ultimate Fighter" season 25 competitor James Krause will finally leave the hospital after a series of surgeries to fend off a staph infection in his leg.

Krause documented his time in the hospital via a series of Instagram posts that showed him enduring a series of surgeries that ended with the UFC lightweight showing off a gruesome scar down the shin on his leg.

Going home today! 10 days in the hospital, 3 (2.5ish) surgeries, but the infection is gone and I'm feeling better. Will be on crutches and will still have a PICC line for a couple weeks but all is improving!

"Going home today!" Krause wrote in his latest post. "10 days in the hospital, 3 (2.5ish) surgeries, but the infection is gone and I'm feeling better. Will be on crutches and will still have a PICC line for a couple weeks but all is improving!"

According to Krause, the surgery to take care of the infection left an eight-inch gash on his leg before doctors went back in to finish cleaning and close up the incision.

3rd (and hopefully final) surgery to get rid of this staph infection once and for all. Doctor basically did one final cleaning and closed up the 8" incision from the 2nd surgery. I have my finger crossed that this is the last thing to get rid of this and get back home to a normal life. Thank you to everyone for the messages, comments, and support. It means the world to me!

Krause says the infection happened after he suffered a cut on his leg while filming "The Ultimate Fighter" this past season and just days after the show wrapped he ended up in the hospital for treatment.

Well... this definitely isn't how I planned my days after being away for 6 weeks. I got a nasty infection on a cut in my leg from when I was on the show and have felt terrible ever since. Hoping to be recovered in a day or two!

Krause joined the show as an active member of the UFC roster while facing off against 13 other former cast members from the series with coaches Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw leading the way.

The good news is Krause appears to be on the road to recovery after spending more than week in the hospital dealing with the staph infection.

Krause will make his first appearance on the new season of "The Ultimate Fighter" when the show debuts on Wednesday night, April 19 at 10 p.m. on FS1.
