Reigning British Open champion Henrik Stenson put himself in a great position to come away with a medal in Rio de Janeiro with a round of 68 Saturday, putting himself just one stroke behind leader Justin Rose. Stenson was lucky to come away from the round unscathed, though, after he made the bizarre decision to poke a caiman sitting in a water hazard with his club.

Caiman are among the many wild animals roaming the Olympic golf course. A caiman is a relative of the alligator, though most types don't grow to be as large. Stenson's caiman fortunately floated away harmlessly, and he quickly walked back to the fairway.
