For American fans looking to watch the 2018 World Cup Russia in person, they might want to start saving soon.
FIFA unveiled their pricing for the tournament, and for fans visiting Russia, they will see a price increase of more than 16 percent over the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The cheapest tickets start at $105 for non-Russians during the group stage, about $15 more than the cost for the same type of tickets in Brazil. During the Round of 16, the cheapest tickets are $115 and, after that, tickets hit a minimum of $175 for the rest of the tournament.
Fans wishing to attend the final will pay hefty prices as expected, with a cost ranging from $455 to $1100 for foreigners.
Russian residents will pay discounted prices, with their tickets starting at just $20 at their cheapest and ranging up to $110 for the final. About 350,000 tickets will be reserved for the host nation's fans.
"We wanted to make sure that we priced tickets fairly to make the events accessible to as many people as possible," said FIFA secretary general Fatma Samoura. "We therefore conducted thorough market research and have priced the tickets accordingly."
The tickets will go on sale next year after the Confederations Cup wraps up in July.
