The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder Miguel Sano on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain, an injury he suffered running to first base in the third inning Tuesday in Oakland.

The team will recall outfielder Max Kepler from Triple-A Rochester. The 23-year-old is hitting .282 (31-for-110) with four doubles, six triples, one home runs and 19 RBI in 30 games for the Red Wings this season. He appeared in nine games with the Twins earlier this season.

Sano, 23, is hitting .236 (42-for-178) on the season with 11 home runs and 26 RBI. He hit eight home runs in May, including home runs in four straight games this past week.
