Georgia is on the cusp of becoming even more of a college football power within the SEC.
Via a report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia has already surpassed its goal of raising half of the $30 million needed to pay for a state-of-the-art 109,000 square-foot indoor practice facility.
The Magill Society -- named after the late Dan Magill -- is a group of donors heavily involved in the project. Entry into the society requires commitments of at least $25,000 over a five-year period. 150 members of the group have donated over $15 million towards the facility.
This indoor practice facility not only prevents against any inclement weather, but it also helps Georgia gain a competitive edge when preparing for a game. This jewel will undoubtedly be a massive recruiting tool.
Legendary quarterback and UGA alum Fran Tarkenton has become a member of the Magill Society. He spoke glowingly about the pride he has for his university.
"With all that I see going on in Athens, I believe the University and our football program are poised for greatness," said Tarkenton. "I encourage my fellow lettermen to step up and help us bring about this much needed facility."
The project is expected to be finished in 2017.
