You never forget your first ride ... even after it's long gone.

Thanks to his father, Brad Keselowski Racing driver Daniel Hemric was able to experience a glorious reunion with his very first go-kart.

Hemric first received the go-kart - powered by a five-horsepower rototiller motor - for Christmas when he was just three years old and began racing it at the age of five. It was eventually sold.

Fast forward to 2015, when Hemric's father tracked down the person he sold it to and bought it back for his son.

What a gift.

"To me, the kart represents the beginning of my career, my family, and all of the people who helped me along the way," Hemric told FOXSports.com. "Getting to the racetrack was a family event, and if it wasn't for their hard work and sacrifices, I wouldn't be here racing for Brad Keselowski Racing.

Now that the two are reunited, there's work to be done.

"The kart is in pretty rough shape now, so I'm planning to start restoring it during our break between Atlanta and Martinsville. At the end of the day, I think I'd just like to get it running again, so that maybe down the road, another five year old kid can take it to the racetrack and have their own experiences with it."
