The Cleveland Indians recalled pitcher Scott Barnes from Triple-A Columbus Sunday, while designating outfielder Ezequiel Carrera for assignment.

Barnes pitched in one game for Cleveland earlier this season, which came last Sunday at Kansas City, and lasted one inning while giving up a walk and a two- run homer. With Columbus, though, he went 2-0 with a 3.72 earned run average in eight games.

Carrera was with Cleveland during spring training, then claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Phillies on April 2 after the Indians designated him for assignment. He played in 13 games for the Phils and went 1-for-13, but was let go by the team earlier in the week with the return of Delmon Young.

After being re-acquired off waivers on Thursday, Carrera went 2-for-4 with an RBI in two games with the Tribe.
