The Baltimore Orioles placed outfielder Endy Chavez on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday with a strained right hamstring, retroactive to June 13.

Chavez is hitting just .162 with one home run and four RBI in 32 games this season.

To fill the vacant roster spot, the O's recalled infielder Steve Tolleson from Triple-A Norfolk. In 12 games with Baltimore this season, Tolleson is hitting .237 with two home runs and six RBI.

This will be Chavez's second stint on the DL this season. He was also on the shelf from May 9-29 due to a strained left oblique.
