The Dodgers continued reinforcing their bullpen Friday, signing right-hander Todd Coffey to a one-year, $1.3 million contract, the team confirmed Friday.
The deal, which is pending a physical, includes a club option for 2013.
Coffey, 31, spent last season with the Washington Nationals, going 5-1 with a 3.62 ERA. He has averaged 72 appearances the past three seasons.
The Dodgers are in bankruptcy, but Coffey will be the team's 11th free-agent addition of the offseason. Right-hander Aaron Harang, who signed for two years, $12 million, received the largest guarantee.
Coffey will join a right-handed setup corps that already includes Kenley Jansen, Matt Guerrier and Mike MacDougal. Righty Javy Guerra is the team's closer, and the left-handers will be Scott Elbert and possibly John Grabow, who signed a minor-league contract.
