The Philadelphia Flyers announced that forward Claude Giroux will miss the club's next game, on Tuesday at Washington, and instead will be evaluated by team physicians.

"Claude is continuing to feel better," Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said in a Monday press conference. "He will not travel with the team today and will be seen by our doctor again tomorrow."

Giroux left Saturday's 5-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second period after colliding with teammate Wayne Simmonds, where Simmonds' knee hit the back of Giroux's head.

The 23-year-old notched two assists before departing, to boost his NHL-leading point total to 39.
