Jazz sign first-rounders Kanter, Burks

Salt Lake City, UT – The Jazz have signed their 2011 draft picks, center Enes Kanter and guard Alec Burks.

They chose the 6-foot-11 Kanter third overall out of Kentucky, though he never actually played for the Wildcats because he was ineligibile for the 2010-11 season. The 19-year-old played with the Turkish U18 National Team and was named the MVP of the 2009 world championship tournament.

Burks was picked 12th overall out of Colorado. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists during his sophomore year.
