President Obama’s  recent comments about problems with government agencies were long overdue, syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said Friday.

“It’s just amazing how right now, in the middle of his second term, [Obama] says there’s a real problem here with the big agencies, some of which are outdated and not designed properly,” Krauthammer said, referring to an MSNBC interview with Chris Matthews.

“It’s interesting how he discovers everything late,” Krauthammer, said on "Special Report with Bret Baier."

Krauthammer, who also is a Fox News contributor, went on to cite another problem  he said the president discovered too late: the complexity of the health care system.

“In that press conference he held where he apologized…he said he hadn’t quite realized how hard it is to purchase health insurance. And this is of course after, three years after, he nationalizes the purchase of health insurance.”
