Vice President Joe Biden will add a stop to his overseas itinerary when he travels to Lebanon on Friday. Biden will meet with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman at the Presidential Palace in Beirut where he will show his support for a leader that is facing tough elections in two weeks. The Lebanese Shiite armed group Hezbollah is already claiming that it will win the majority in the upcoming general elections on June 7th.
Vice President Biden has spent the week in the Baltic states of Bosnia, Herzegovina, Serbia, and Kosovo. This would be the first time a sitting U.S. Vice President or President has visited Lebanon.
