Gretchen's Take: America's socialism trend is alarming
They say you don't realize how good you had it until it's gone. I hope we aren't too late
Have Americans totally lost their minds when it comes to remembering history?
I know I certainly remember President Ronald Reagan telling Russian President Gorbachev to "tear down that wall".
Yes. That was the Cold War.
I for one have been astounded at the number of Americans who are fine with our country moving in a socialist direction. Few Americans actually label themselves socialists ... but its their views on capitalism -- that are quite alarming.
In a Pew Research center survey -- only 50 percent of Americans have a positive view of capitalism --and 40 percent have a negative response. Mix in the fact that 31 percent have a positive reaction to the word "socialism" and what does it all mean?
When you factor in 50 percent of 30 to 49 year olds and 69 percent of 18 to 29 year olds say they would vote for a socialist -- I think it showcases an alarming trend in this great nation of ours.
I'm a 100 percent Swedish American -- but do we really want to be Sweden, Norway or Denmark?
