Every day, the future is more the present.

Spanish company Pal Robotics has developed a humanoid robot that the company hopes could be put to use in shopping centers, airports, hospitals and more, says Managing Director Francesco Ferro.

Named Reem, it could in the future, for example, scan a boarding pass and then help carry passengers’ bags to the correct gate.

The robot is mobile and has facial recognition software for personalized service. Blue and red versions—the team colors—are being created for the FC Barcelona museum in Barcelona.
