After posting a makeup-free selfie on Facebook, an Des Moines, Iowa news anchor is defending herself against negative comments on Facebook.
On April 12, Erin Kiernan, who works for WHO-TV in Iowa, posted a photo of herself holding her 6-month-old son captioned, “I used to think I knew what exhausted was. Hilarious.”
While the photo received over 3,400 reactions of “like,” “love” and “haha,” some Facebook users posted negative comments, Fox32 Chicago reported. One wrote, “This doesn’t even look like the same person!”
In response, Kiernan posted on a comparison photo on April 13, with her professional headshot on the left and her previously posted selfie on the right.
“Newsflash! These ARE NOT pictures of the same person,” Kiernan wrote in the update on her Facebook page. “The woman on the left is well rested, spent two hours on her hair and makeup, had a professional photographer take her picture (and photoshop [sic] it, I'm sure), and is in the "glowing" second trimester of pregnancy. The woman on the right got two hours of sleep (maybe), hadn't looked in the mirror, took a selfie, did not put a filter on it and is covered with spit up and drool from a teething and very crabby baby.”
The response has received over 13,000 reactions.
"I love that you are so honest and willing to share that you are a normal person just like the rest of us," wrote a mom of three.
