‘Dias de los Reyes’ (Three Kings Day) brought a special gift to two Pennsylvania sisters.
Early Tuesday morning, Yely Gonzalez, 23, and her sister Estafany, 22, were at the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania because the older of the two went into labor.
Because Yely speaks no English, and Estafany speaks a little bit, she was there to help act as a translator.
But fate had other plans.
Estafany was also pregnant and, while doctors were examining her sister, she went into labor.
Estafany welcomed daughter Marjorie at 8:12 a.m. and Yely’s daughter, Alette, was welcomed 17 minutes later at 8:29 a.m., the hospital said. It was a chaotic scene at the hospital with their mother shuffling from room to room to help her daughters.
A hospital representative told Fox News Latino the two moms and baby girls are all happy and healthy.
Although both sisters were full-term, the almost simultaneous births were not planned.
The sisters, who each have 2-year-olds, told ABC News they consider the births a blessing and hope the girls will grow up to be just as close as them.
