From the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting in 2012 to last year’s deadly attack at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., Americans have witnessed dozens of violent incidents on a large scale in the past few years.
Joining us this week to explore a connection among some of these acts and a lack of care for people suffering from mental illness is Dr. Dinelia Rosa, current president and the first woman of color to serve in that post for the New York State Psychological Association. Rosa is director of the TC Dean-Hope Center for Education and Psychological Services at Teacher’s College at Columbia University in New York City.
