Fresh deep-fried candy bars and Twinkies have been state fair mainstays for years but now Hostess is bringing the popular carnival treat right to your kitchen this summer.
A pre-packaged version of Twinkies that have been dipped in funnel cake batter and flash fried were spotted at the megastore's new Culinary & Innovation Center in Bentonville, Arkansas last week.
Last summer, the New York Post first reported Hostess was testing the waters with frozen treats.
But unlike a regular ready-to-eat Twinkie, these golden cream-filled cakes need to be cooked in the oven before you can dig in.
The deep-fried treat will be available exclusively at Walmart for one year starting Aug. 22, so get ‘em while they’re hot.
