March 3 is National Pancake Day.  To celebrate, IHOP restaurants are giving away free pancakes today for all you breakfast lovers out there.

Better yet, for every stack of pancakes served, guests are encouraged to make a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This year, IHOP hopes to raise $3.5 million, bringing the total raised over the past ten years to almost $20 million.

And while we're on the topic of pancakes, we had to mention the amazing Leonard Nimoy pancake made by food designer Nathan Shields. In a tribute to Nimoy, who passed away on Friday, Shields  posted a video on his YouTube page of a pancake he created that looks exactly like the actor who played Mr. Spock on "Star Trek."

In the clip, Shields uses a squeeze bottle filled with pancake batter to create his amazing design.

If you can't make it to IHOP, whip up a batch at home of these or these other awesome recipes in the slideshow above.
