Comedian and actress Alice Wetterlund blasted the cast and crew of “Silicon Valley” for allegedly enabling troubled former star TJ Miller‘s boorish behavior on and off the set of the HBO hit.
“Yes! It is definitely time to rehabilitate TJ Miller’s career,” Wetterlund, 37, tweeted sarcastically on Tuesday. “We can’t afford to lose talent at a time like this, we need more — not less — comedic hijinks such as *checks notes* calling in a fake bomb threat.”
Wetterlund referred to a March incident in which an allegedly inebriated Miller, 37, allegedly made a bogus 911 call on an Amtrak train, causing hours of delays. He was charged with intentionally conveying to law enforcement false information about an explosive device on a train and may face up to five years behind bars if convicted. He was released on $100,000 bail and is currently awaiting trial.
Wetterlund also claimed he was a nightmare on set and that no one else, least of all Miller’s male co-stars, did anything to stop it.
She replied to a follower and fan of the series, “I hope to not ruin it for you, but TJ Miller was a bully and petulant brat and pretty much everyone who had any power on that (almost all male) set, including the male cast members, enabled him and were complicit in his unprofessionalism. They can f--k off forever.”
“I’m pretty open about this, and I don’t know if other women on the show had a different experience than me, but it was kind of a nightmare,” she added, explaining that she stayed on the show because she needed work and didn’t realize not all television shows had such an allegedly “toxic and weird” environment.
Wetterlund didn’t detail Miller’s alleged on-set bullying before his exit, but in the past show insiders have claimed he was “dangerous” and “explosive” to be around.
A rep for HBO told Page Six in a statement, “While this is the first time we have heard Alice Wetterlund comment on her experiences on ‘Silicon Valley,’ we are disappointed to learn of her concerns. HBO and the producers have always taken very seriously our responsibility to create a welcoming and congenial environment for everyone who works on the show.”
Wetterlund’s allegations are the latest in a series of negative news about Miller.
In December 2017, the “Emoji Movie” star, who went under the knife in 2010 to treat a brain disorder, denied a sexual assault allegation from a George Washington University classmate.
A year earlier, Miller was arrested for allegedly slapping an Uber driver. He denied the allegations and later settled with the alleged victim for an undisclosed sum.
“Silicon Valley” stars Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani and Jimmy O. Yang did not immediately return requests for comment.
An attorney for Miller did not immediately return a request for comment.
