Kendall Jenner is taking some notes from fellow model Cindy Crawford.
The 21-year-old reality and runway star appeared in Pepsi’s new “Jump In” commercial, which was released globally on Tuesday. She also stirred headlines for showing off a new blonde look.
In the commercial, Jenner is noted for spotting what appears to be a protest where activists hold banners featuring the peace sign. She takes off her blonde wig and smears away her lipstick before joining in. But rather than protesting, she takes a Pepsi can and hands it over to a police officer as a peace offering while the crowd cheers. The cop smiles in response.
“I am thrilled to join the legendary roster of icons who have represented their generations and worked with Pepsi,” said Jenner in a statement to E! News. “To me, Pepsi is more than just a beverage — it registers as a pop culture icon and a lifestyle that shares a voice with the generation of today. The spirit of Pepsi — living in the ‘now’ moment — is one that I believe in. I make a conscious effort in my everyday life and travels to enjoy every experience of today.”
According to a press release, Pepsi will continue to promote the “Live for Now” motto throughout the year. They explained that Jenner’s commercial, which they described as a short film, “captures the spirit and actions of those people that jump in to every moment.”
Earlier this year, Crawford celebrated the 25th anniversary of her own Pepsi commercial, which aired during Super Bowl XXVI in 1992.
