The rapper, who was hospitalized last Monday after suffering a temporary psychosis, according to his personal doctor, is still under close medical supervision, sources tell the New York Post.
Family and friends had hoped Kanye – who was taken to hospital after a meltdown at the home of his personal trainer – would be back home for Thanksgiving, but insiders confirmed that he remained at UCLA Mecical Center.
One source said, “Kanye is still under medical observation. He’s doing better, but he still needs to rest. He’s expected to stay in the hospital for a few more days.”
The source said that Kanye is “mentally exhausted” from non-stop touring, work on his fashion and sneaker lines, plus the anniversary of the death of his mother Donda West on November 10. She died of heart disease and complications from surgery in Los Angeles in 2007 following a liposuction and breast reduction operation.
West blames himself for his mother's death because she moved to Los Angeles from Chicago to help manager her son's career. In an interview last year the rapper lamented, "If I had never moved to LA she'd be alive."
Kardashian reportedly visited her husband for a few hours on Thursday monring and then joined her family for a Thanksgiving dinner at younger sister Kylie Jenner's Calabasas home.
Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner has been looking after the couple's children, North, 3, and Saint, 11 months.
