Danielle Staub may once again be bringing her unique brand of antagonism to the "Real Housewives of New Jersey."
Staub, who gained fame as the reality show's pseudo-villain during the first two seasons, did not return for season 3 after getting in a slew of screaming fights with Teresa Giudice (and basically everyone else on the show).
But now, a source close to "RHONJ" tells ET that Staub could be coming back for season 8, and that the idea was actually Giudice's.
"[The idea of her coming back] all happened after they filmed the ['Housewives'] reunion a few weeks ago," the source explained.
During the season 7 reunion, Staub's name came up, and Giudice actually apologized for the way she behaved toward her during one of their most infamous blow-ups.
"Danielle has been very complimentary to Teresa on social media since her legal issues and jail time," the source said. "So, after the reunion, Teresa thought to reach out to Danielle to say hi. Teresa has really turned over a new leaf and figured, 'Why not? Life is too short to hold grudges.' And she will definitely be a great ally for Teresa to have."
However, a source with Bravo tells ET that there have been not yet been any official conversations about casting for next season.
Giudice and Staub do seem to be on friendly terms recently. Earlier this month, the 44-year-old "RHONJ" stalwart shared a smiling selfie with her former foe while the two practiced their yoga poses.
Staub also took to Twitter earlier this year to reveal that she wants to write a tell-all book about her time on the hit reality series.
